Introductions
The world...is a mysterious and wonderful place...and in this world, live wondrous creatures known as...Pokémon. They inhabit the entire planet...on the land...and in the sea...and are perhaps the most mysterious and wonderful creatures to walk the Earth alongside humans. There are hundreds of known Pokémon in our world, possibly more that have yet to be discovered. There are many people, Pokémon Professors and Researchers alike, always studying about them, and they have helped pave the way for Pokémon Trainers. Along with their research, Pokémon Professors give out starter Pokémon to beginning Pokémon Trainers. The starter Pokémon are always a Grass-type, a Fire-type, and a Water-type, but depending on the region, the starter Pokémon differ.
When children turn 10 years old, they're allowed to become Pokémon Trainers and begin their Pokémon journey, where they then capture and train Pokémon to battle each other and become stronger. They challenge Pokémon Gyms and even compete in Pokémon Leagues, but most Trainers share the same dream: to become Pokémon Masters. However, not everyone's dream is to become a Pokémon Master. Some people train to become Pokémon Breeders, and some dream of becoming the world's top Coordinator. Others want to become Pokémon Researchers, like Professor Oak. Me? I want to be a little bit of everything. This, is my story...
My name is Kendra, and I'm from Olivine City in the Johto region. It's a beautiful, mountainous place by the sea, with two lighthouses, steep cliffs, luscious forests, and beautiful sandy beaches. I love the way Olivine City is, it's like I can live in the mountains, and by the sea, all at the same time. Every day, I wake up to a beautiful view of the ocean, and every night, I go to bed with that same view. It's awesome. The perfect place to live.
Oh, I'm sure you'd like to know what I look like. Well, I have dark brown hair, and my hazel eyes are a deep, olive green color. Now I have a big sister named Jasmine, and I absolutely love her to death. She has light brown hair, and her eyes are such a beautiful blue. She's so kind and caring, and her warm smile...with those blue eyes...she practically radiates with a warm glow of love. Now she and I are pretty close in age, although she still is older than me. My birthday is April 8th, and her birthday is February 20th, meaning for a month and half she claims to be 2 years older than me. But really she's only 1 year, 1 month, and 16 days older than me. And yes I did get exact. But I'm getting ahead of myself.
Jasmine and I live with our grandfather, named Myron. He's a jolly man, and although he may not be in perfect shape, he simply says that all his experience in life likes to settle around his waist. He has brown hair, not as dark as mine, and not as light as Jasmine's, but it does have a light grayish tint to it, attributing to his age, but he actually looks really great for his age. His eyes look black, but if you look closely you can see that they're just a very dark brown. Now he may wear glasses to help him see, but his eyesight isn't horrible either. It's not as bad as you would think it is, but then again that's our Grandpa for you. He's so friendly and has such a warm smile, that it's hard not to love him, and his laughter is contagious once you get him started.
Now he may not look like it, but Grandpa was quite the Trainer is his youth, traveling to all sorts of places, training both his Pokémon, and his mind. His first Pokémon was an Elekid he befriended as a young Trainer, and after Elekid evolved into an Electabuzz, they battled and captured a pretty tough Skarmory. Grandpa traveled to the Sinnoh region once, and returned to Johto with a very spirited Riolu. That Riolu is now a very talented Lucario, and Skarmory and Electabuzz both have also become quite skilled. Together with his three Pokémon, Grandpa was a very powerful Pokémon Trainer. Believe it or not he's still quite the Trainer to this day. He may not look like the battling type due to his gentle and kind nature, but he can be quite the formidable opponent in battle, and he's an expert when it comes to the Steel-type. After all, the Olivine City Gym is a Steel-type Pokémon Gym. Yes, Grandpa is the Olivine City Gym Leader. When Trainers defeat him in battle, he gives them a Gym Badge as proof of their victory: the Mineral Badge.
Now it's time I explain more about me and Jasmine; more importantly, about our relationship as sisters. From the moment I was born, Jasmine and I immediately began to share a close bond that only two sisters could have. Of course, considering what happened when I was just a baby, it's pretty obvious why we're so close. But...I'd rather not talk about it... It's something that still haunts us...
...Now, where was I... Oh yeah! My and Jasmine's relationship as sisters. Now then, if I ever cried, Jasmine was always able to make me smile no matter what, and vice versa. If we were apart for too long, then we'd both start getting sad. We were only the happiest when we were together, and that's still true today. But, despite all that, we can't help the simple fact that we're both Grandpa's girls. But we're also each other's girls too. From the time I was born onwards, we've always done just about everything together. We're the best of friends, and we have the perfect relationship, and we're pretty much inseparable. It's also unsurprising that we're very protective of each other. But sometimes I think Jasmine's a little too protective of me, and Grandpa and I always joke around by saying she's more like my mother than my sister, but she'll always say that it's her job as my big sister to be overprotective, especially considering the tragedies from our past... But I'm glad that I have Jasmine as my sister. I love her very much, and I don't know what I would do without her, and the same goes for her with me. We'd be lost without each other.
Now Jasmine and I have both known what our dreams are from a very young age. She wants to take over the family Gym one day and become the Olivine City Gym Leader, taking over the role from Grandpa once she's old enough and capable enough to do so. As for me, I want to become a Pokémon Master! I know that it won't be easy, but I'm a very stubborn and determined person when it comes to certain things, so I won't let go of my dream that easily! You can count on it!
Now that you know about me and my family, it's time for our story to begin. But it begins long before Jasmine and I have become Pokémon Trainers. Where our story begins, we're still just little kids.
